Overview

For banking app users, our transfer feature is not a preferred choice for local and international money transfers — it presented several issues for users to use. I led research on how to improve our transfers feature and offer exclusive promotions & discounts to enhance our users' experience.

Problem

What makes our transfers app stand out, and why should users choose it over other money transfer apps? Can we introduce something distinctive that will draw users to utilise our unique transfer feature?

Primary Research — Competitive Analysis

Issues and problems can be based on intuitions and understanding of best practices, but others came directly from the research. I conducted benchmarking of multiple apps that support promo codes and discounts.

I surveyed 30 people via Google Forms to understand what are the deciding factors for users when sending money.

Define — Goals, KPI & Scoping

Goal-setting and key performance indicators (KPIs) for a money transfer service often focus on improving user experience, increasing transaction volume, and ensuring the security and efficiency of the transfer process.

User Engagement

  • KPI: Number of active users and frequency of app usage.
  • Target: Increase monthly active users by a certain percentage.

Enhance User Experience

  • Goal: Improve the overall user experience of the banking transfers app.
  • Key Actions: Implement a user-friendly interface and optimise the app's navigation.

Ideation — Wireframes

Ensure that the wireframes clearly convey the transfer's feature functionality and flow. Aim for clear and user-friendly design. Avoid unnecessary complexity in this early stage.

Design — UI Kit & User Interface

I created a user-friendly and visually appealing interface for users to easily navigate features like transactions, transfers, payments, and other financial services. The design prioritises clarity, simplicity, and security to enhance the overall user experience.

Overview

Swift Bank's dashboard look and feel is very clean with distinctive placeholders for each section. It showcases each account separately with a total account balance on top. It also showcases cards and finance sections on the dashboard upfront for users to access easily or check statuses.

International Transfer

International transfer is the entry point from where users can send money internationally to any country with better discounts and promotions.

Promo Code

I introduced promo codes so that users can get discounts and exclusive promotions. Each user has customised promo codes that they can access from the link. After applying the promo code, users get discounts of up to 50% on their transfer fees.
